Top 10 Christmas songs
We all know the generic, classic top 10 Christmas songs and if this is what you are interested in, here's your list.
"Do They Know It's Christmas" - Band Aid. Originally written by Sir Bob Geldof and sold 50,000,000 copies. Now that should be in a top 10 list. "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" - Gayla Peevey. The song became popular in 1953 when a 10 year old girl Gayla Peevey performed the song as a way to raise money for the Oklahoma City Zoo. The zoo raised enough funds to bring Matilda to the zoo. No other song in the original top ten Christmas list did so much for a hippo. "This Christmas Day" - Trans-Siberian Orchestra. This song I only discovered about 2 years ago and it has been a favorite ever since. "Christmas Wrappings" - The Waitresses. Nothing special about this song, just a fun song to sing to. "Feliz Navidad" - José Feliciano. Feliz Navidad translates into "Merry Christmas." I'm not the best singer, but every time this song comes on the radio I try to sing along to it. I may not get all the words correct but I make up for it by singing Feliz Navidad especially loud. OK, make that the top five Christmas list. However, I'd rather listen to my top five then the classic top ten that everyone swears by. |
